Have you ever had one photo that connects to thousands of people even though they may not be in the photo?  One photo that just speaks so much that it emotionally connects to everyone? Back in January of this year I met a 10 day old little boy named Connor.  He was a perfect little model!   It was a special session for me because Connor’s dad was currently deployed and still had 6 months until he would be able to return to the United States to meet his little guy.  As a photographer this was something I really want to capture, the feeling, the emotion, just the overall concept that his dad wouldn’t be able to hold his little boy until he was almost 6 months old!  This is the photo I came up with:

Since taking this photo, Connor has met his dad!  The photo has been featured on CNN, the Today show, NBC Nightly news and MSNBC!  It was also entered into a National Professional Photographers Cover Photo Contest for Professional Photographers of America, where it placed in the top 30 of over 6,000 entries!! This was the segment feature on the Today show, it was for an organization called, Operation Love Reunited.  This is an organization that is very near and dear to my heart.  This nonprofit organization offers sessions to military families that are facing a deployment.
