A Fairytale Wedding!

June 18, 2010

June 5th, 2010.  The Hendrix Wedding.  Tinnie, New Mexico. This wedding was one for the record books!!   All weddings are a blast.. always a good time..meeting people..getting to know the couple— their LOVE story, etc.  This family just added the icing on the cake!

It all started at about 4:45..just minutes before the wedding was going to start..someone walks into the bride’s room and announces one of the groomsmen has the wrong size pants.. 3 sizes too small.. he proceeds to continue telling us he is trying his best to squeeze into the pants.  To which he tells us a story..that reminds me of all of us ladies trying to fit into our skinny jeans- you do everything possible to get yourself in them!   Normally most weddings are held in town, or a city where someone can easily go get some pants and crisis adverted.  However we were 30 miles outside of Roswell and about 30 miles from Ruidoso– litterally middle of nowhere in the mountains!!  Luckily, one of the ladies at the venue her husband wore the same size so she drove home and rescued the day.  Now while this was going down..the bride appeared to remain calm..there was occasional outbursts of laughter, but for the most part very calm!  Amazing!  But that is Briana- she’s perfect and a perfect match for Michael!  We are starting with their slide show first..cause I love it!

Details! Details!! Check out these shoes that a friend made for Briana! First off all love Tom’s shoes– these are so cute!
It’s all about perfect timing and just capturing the action as it unfolds- no poses, just capturing things as the happen— love love this capture of the bride getting ready and the bridesmaids watchingI am in love with pink!!! Look at these flowers..love!
Briana and Michael I wish you all the best!!

If there is one word I can use to describe this wedding it would be perfect! I know so general, so common, but that is just what this wedding was Perfect! From the weather, to the family, to the guest, to the whole ceremony- it all was perfect! I have been talking with Kristen since Last summer planning her special day set for May in Destin, Florida.

I knew instantly right after the first phone call with Kristen- or technically the second.. The first one I told her about me, my information and she told me she had to speak with Will and would call me back later that week. It wasn’t 5 minutes that my phone rang again with a YES reply- that she knew from the start she had wanted me to capture her day. Talk about a leap of faith and I am so thankful for that. Now only did we share a similar name, we just seemed to click instantly on the phone- Kristen isn’t from Destin but hopes some day to move there. I do recall some of our many phone calls me telling her about Destin which was fun for me, because I had just relocated from there so it was nice to recall on some fun favorite hang outs and local spots.

I am starting off with one of my favorite images from the whole day: yes this one- it just captures the beautiful beaches of Destin, but more importantly a couple very much in love. I love it.

If I tell this story, the slideshow music at the end of this post might make a little more sense..Kristen is a fan of movies..and has majority of the best ones memorized..well while getting ready we jammed out to “My Best Friends Wedding” Soundtrack- talk about a good girl singing time!

Like I said, Kristen knows her movies, and another favorite is TopGun, so much that her first love was Tom Cruise- we all know every little girl had the same crush too! As a child Kristen had a TopGun book that she carried everywhere, however the book has been lost and can not be found- so instead her dad got her a huge poster of her first love! And I think Will is a close enough resemblance!

Will and Kristen I wish you all the best, and hopefully moving to Destin soon! Thank you for letting me be a big part of your special day.

Last but not least here are more pictures of their day!

The 2010 Wedding Season has kicked off… I started the season with 2 destination weddings! How exciting, right?!

First up is Alan & Kellie’s special day. Though the clouds were looming over head, the bride and groom still shined at their Destin Beach Wedding. And being in Clovis, NM- what I like to call the’ Real Windy City’ the wind didn’t even phase my mind once– Until I started looking as some pictures and was like it was windy?! who knew!

Kellie had the most beautiful elegant dress- and she looked amazing in it! The flowers were a combination of Pink Lillie’s and of course, I loved them! Their cake, was the most extravagant beach cake- everything about the whole day was just beautiful.

Here are a few of my favorites!

Kellie & Alan, Thank you for letting me be a big part of your special day- it was truly beautiful!
