First real weekend here in Omaha, Nebraska and there was a huge air show this weekend at Offutt Air Force Base! I was just overly amazed how large this show was and how big of an impact the air show is with the community! On Saturday they estimated some 65,000 people- not sure about Sunday but it was very busy!

We left the show early to beat the rush out of base, and as we were leaving I totally spotted this perfect area to view the Thunderbirds. Daniel happened to be in the perfect area to capture him watching the show- I am in love with this shot!

During the air show, one of the major attractions was the F-22 Raptor Team. At one point in the demonstration one of the Doolittle raiders joined in and teamed up- this was really neat seeing the two of those planes being able to fly so close together.

And just a few more of the Thunderbirds

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Kitchen of Plenty

August 29, 2010

Daniel finished cleaning and unpacking the last few boxes in the kitchen– something I was avoiding only because I didn’t know where to put the last few things left to unpack.  We have multiples of many items in our kitchen..naturally one would say toss it, donate it, but I guess we have just said keep it!

So I don’t know why I am posting this except for the fact I found it hysterically funny and thought maybe you could enjoy ‘oh my gosh they didn’t’ kind of laugh with me!

So Daniel tells me to come look at the kitchen all finished!  I am so ecstatic- finally! The fridge still needs fridge art, we still have to add a splash of color, a rug and a few other decorative items…but for the most part all the boxes are unpacked in the kitchen!

Of course I am excited, Daniel is even more excited to show me that he organized the silverware drawers.   Yes, I said drawers- not one, not two, but three drawers of silverware!!!  Please tell me why we have this much?   Even more embarrassing- the dishwasher silverware tray is full!

Soo needless to say.. whoever is getting married next I have your gift already ready!  Only kidding!!

My life on the road..

August 28, 2010

As the summer is slowly coming to an end–my life seems to be going in fast forward. I feel like things have been non-stop since the beginning of July. I really haven’t felt at home since then– spending a total of 29 days away from home! I have been so blessed to be able to have such amazing adventures..

First starting in San Antonio- where I got to spend the fourth of July with Daniel. We of course did a lot of touristy things like the Alamo, Seaworld, Tower of America and the Riverwalk. Here are my two favorite shots from the trip!

And Daniel and I playing tourist’s at the Alamo:

Within days of getting back from that trip I began packing and heading out for an adventure in Nicaragua and one amazing wedding that has yet to be debut on the blog (soon..sometime soon!). Days after coming back from that trip we began packing the entire house to head out to our new home in Omaha, Nebraska. The drive was 13 hours from Portales, NM to Omaha, NE- it was probably one of the easiest road trips I have ever done!

We arrived early Friday Morning enough time to get about 2 hours of sleep and then we were out the door to begin our house hunting adventure. By 10 o’clock we had viewed about 10 homes non of which really sparked our interest- the adventure continued until Saturday evening when we finally found the one! We were able to unload and move into the house Sunday Morning. My Dad and brother came up to help unload the truck! After about 5 minutes I think my brother was second guessing his idea to volunteer to help unload! The truck was full..

I am so very thankful they were able to help–we were able to unload the entire truck in about 2 hours! Record timing since it took Daniel and I about a day and half to load it ourselves!

By Tuesday we were headed out for another adventure to visit Daniel’s family (this trip was long overdue about a year since we had last seen them!). We are currently stalled in the airport waiting for our connecting flight. All I can think about is the sessions I have to finish and the boxes upon boxes of unpacking to do.

And before the summer comes to an end we have 2 more adventures- we will be at the Lake of the Ozarks in the next week and then heading to Kansas City, Missouri for some exciting sessions!

I am excited for all the adventures to come.. this summer has been fantastic even if it has been spent in hotels, airports, and on the road!
