Spring has arrived! | Clovis Engagement Photography
April 24, 2010I met Candis one day last fall in a coffee shop in Portales, we laughed and had a great time! She was out visiting her Fiancé and considerately also doing some major wedding planning while he was at work! We talked about school, life and the future plans to move out here after school! It wasn’t until her next visit out here that we had made arrangements for an afternoon outing for some super fun engagement pictures! The one request Candis had for her pictures is she wanted a garden, flowers, and lots of green! I laughed, and was secretly thinking, how am I going to pull this one off? I really love a challenge and being ‘kreative’ but it had just snowed 3 days before, the sun hasn’t been out much and we were knee deep into ‘windy season.’
For those that are not from Clovis, New Mexico there is a time just after winter and before spring that everyone calls the ‘windy season’- wind gusts up to 50 or more miles per hour daily! I learned about this almost a year ago when Daniel and I took the adventure out here to begin to look for a place to live, all the locals we met kept telling us, don’t mind the wind, it will be over in a few weeks! I even found myself assuring Candis, its only windy like this occasionally! Minus the wind, the shoot was a blast.
Matt & Candis are head over heels in love with one another and I totally love being able to capture that!
Seniors 2010 | Clovis NM Senior Photography
April 23, 2010I have been slacking on the blog lately. Sooo sorry, but to make up for it I do feel I have some amazing sessions to share with you!! I have been in over my head with senior sessions, engagements, families, even a super fun trash the dress session!
Starting things off with: Seth.
Seth is an incredible senior that is about to graduate from Texico High School. Basketball, Baseball, Football, you name it he plays it! The session was a blast, the weather was perfect minus the wind, but didn’t seem to both us at all!

Photographer tip of the day: try to take a shot behind or through something (like leaves on a tree), it creates an unique shot!
Hope you all have a wonderful Friday!!
